I have talked to many people that grew to hate driving after they began to bicycle commute. I was car free for eight years. Only renting a van when I needed to haul stuff. I used to love driving. That's one thing positive I have to say about living in Michigan. Old fashioned 1950/60s values - on the road or in a shopping mall. We even exchange"good mornings" on the street and they don't think you're gonna stick-them-up. Given time that's probably gonna change. (apologies to Alex.)
