I set them to 6 on exhaust and 5 on inlet. The 9mm deep socket as recommended in the wiki was invaluable. I also took off the radiator and coils as an assembly which made getting to the exhaust side easy.
It started right up, and I was able to take it off choke earlier. I took it for a quick ride and impressions are good - it feels more tractable at lower revs.
That is awesome! I love how easy it is to do the valves on the pregen engine. Definitely keep up on the clearances at the proper intervals as long as you have this fun bike.
