also, I hear some guys "raise the rear" a bit. I believe it is mostly for clearance. did you do this? Trying to see what mods I can do at the same time as the 17 Rim changes that dont hit the pocket that much.
I used the new-gen shock because it was adjustable and it was necessary in order to do the swingarm arm swap.

I don't think the rear has to be raised, but it would help. It causes the bike to handle differently and it sometimes makes the bike look better, as long as you don't raise it too much.
