The date is 4 numbers in an oval like "3610". First two are the week of the year (36th week) second are the last two digits of the year (2010).
That is pretty serious in my book. I wouldn't ride on it.

sidewall is fine. 3012 is the manufacture date.
do you think its that serious? i can really only get a nail under the center section, and its not even deep.
