TRIUMPH has done its usual trick of waiting until the press launch before revealing specifications of a new bike, in this case the
2016 Tiger Sport.
The updated 1050 triple makes a claimed 126hp at 9,475rpm and 78.1lbft at 7,000rpm. Triumph says mid-range power is up by around 5% on the outgoing model while torque is up 4%.
Clinging stubbornly to dry-weight figures, the firm tells us it tips the scales at 218kg and will do 54mpg.
It’s got an 830mm seat height, a 20-litre tank and comes with self-cancelling indicators, a power socket and a £10,300 on-the-road price tag.
There are two colour schemes – ‘matt jet’ black and ‘aluminium’ silver – and it’s due to arrive in UK dealers on April 23, with over 40 optional accessories.
Visordown is on the launch now in Nice, France. Watch out for our full review coming soon.
