High Winds
How does the 300 do in high wind 30+ mph situations? I'm assuming not much better than the 250 due their slim weight difference, but I would like to hear others personal experiences. Maybe the new fairing design or slightly larger rear tire makes a difference now. Still on the fence about getting a 300 as a daily commuter since I've had some pretty terrifying experiences riding in high winds with the 250. I am thinking I want something a bit heavier and larger rear tire *cough* cbr500r.

IMHO it is a lot better. It is even better then my 500 was. I only have 800 miles (since mid January) on my 300 but almost all of them have been in high winds. One day I was in 60 mph gust on the pa turnpike's Susquehanna river bridge. Funny thing was no one would pass me until we got to the other side. I was able to stay in my lane, but I do not recommend riding on the freeway with winds blowing that hard.
FYI easypass turnpike charge for motorrcycles is 25% off in PA |

I've had the bike move on me in about 25mph winds and when passing big-rigs but not to bad that I couldn't stay well within my lane, but I also weigh in at 225 w/o gear so I have a decent amount of mass to be moved. All I do is just go into a full tuck to reduce my cross profile and relax. That's just me though.

IMHO, The 300 is fine.
Keep your arms bent and don't lock your elbows. If the winds are too crazy no bike may be fun in that situation.
