What do u use.....
Hey people.....when out and about on the N-250, what still camera do you use, are you moving or stationary, etc. etc. I've noticed some very good quality digitals and some not so much. Make, model and include the megapixels please.

My pics were bad on my blackberry curve. Kind of foggy, then I cleaned the lens. Not a great camera but does good in a pinch.

I use a Cannon Powershot A1000 Is. It is a 10 mega pixel camera with 4X optical zoo. The higher the optical zoom the better. Some cameras will boast a high digital zoom but with digital zoom the picture quality gets worse and worse the more you zoom in. All the pics I take are stationary but the camera has a feature for action shots. I just bought an 11" portable tripod that extends to 41" to get in on the shot when no one is around which is usually the case for me as I usually ride solo.
Have fun shopping. Does this mean we will finally some pics of you? You always stay invisible and mysterious. |

^^^Maybe you can get a friend to take a picture of you riding your bike with that tripod mounted and extended to 41", while you're also taking pictures!

^^^ Ahhmmm... the tripod is for still shots not for mounting on the bike.
So do you have anything to contribute to addy126's thread? Like what kind of camera you use? |

Currently the iPhone 4 for pics and videos (5.0 MP). I also have a sony cybershot touchscreen that's 12 MP, but the iPhone is more convenient and somehow the daytime pics look a lot better.

Uhhhhhh I have 3 cameras (SLR, 2 small dig's) and 1 Sony Video Cam....I'm just wondering how some get really good pics. The SLR is just way to large to lug around all the time unless I want that really good quality shot. My other dig is too grainy (low pixels) and the one I just got is a 12.2 megapix Samsung which seems like it might just do the trick... So Rick, no shoppin for a cam lol... as for pics of me (lol) guess you got the message now lol

megapixels are not important in fact more can be a bad thing.
An old 6mp slr with a decent lens will kick the ass of the latest 18mp small camera. quite simply too many pixels on too small a sensor means a noisy dirty image. I have a sony dsc-t90 i use for its hd video. for stills on its best quality with the iso set to 80 to keep it as clean as possible (assuming you have lots of light to spare) its ok. The slr has a large sensor with more room between the pixels so they don't interfere with each other. On ISO800 in dark conditions still takes a cleaner picture, so much so you can take the 10mp picture and upscale it in GIMP to 26MP and it still is good enough to sell to a photo stock agency (yes I've done it). The compact camera would never stand a chance in like for like. If i compare the worst of the slr against the best of the compact, its still not close. on the road i bring both the slr with a wide lens in the backpack (1.2kg) and the sony for helmet cam work, also a vado hd for normal video work. Then again if you not selling photos and not printing them out bigger than 8x10, a compact camera should be just fine. But remember sometimes less is more

I use a Nikon D40 DSLR, don't get caught up in the megapixel hype, Optics are where its at, digital zoom doesn't even count

Stevo.. yes pics like this. I get them on my DSLR but I was wanting a fairly decent "tote" around camera. I'm trying out this Samsung 12.2 just to see where it takes me. My dayz off now will allow me to put the thing to the test. If not, I'll just sell it off at work for a decent price.<grin>
