Please don't start a thread about our scars - the stories are bad enough.

These types of things just make me glad that I chose the 250r over a 600cc -simply because I feel less aggressive on the 250, which makes me look around more instead of just searching for the fastest line though traffic. Or, I just tend to "squid" out less often, which makes me feel safer for some strange reason in the world in my head.

Not that a crash would be any less severe on a small bike - then again, inertia is a b*tch.

such a horrible article! how do we just chose ONE....they all deserve something for being so strong and actually finding humor is what they went through to be contestants in such a thing. Much respect for all of them.

Paulette, When you get scarred up, you need to have a sense of humor to grt through it, otherwise you get bummed out. After Vietnam, I had scars everywhere (no facial ones). My forearms were scarred from thrashing through the jungle-and others from metal fragments and a couple of gunshots. In 1971 I walked into a Haloween party wearing a jockstrap. Went as a Road Map. Have not been self conscious since.

I don't in any way come across in the wrong sentiment, but that made me laugh. That's awesome!

Pictures/articles like that help me keep in mind that a lot can go wrong very quickly.

Wow Alex. I have a vertical scar about 8" or so on my abdomen. Got it in a dirtbike accident which ruptured my spleen. Sometimes if someone asks about it I say I got it in a knife fight and say you should have seen the loser. LOL
