Cruiser leathers...

Hi guys, my dad recently got a new fat bob and I want to get him a decent set of riding gear, but something that looks good on a harley AND gives a good level of protection. I saw the jackers, etc... at the harley showroom and they offer no protection whatsoever... Leather is preferable, but textile will do just as well...

Actually, I haven't seen the bike in person yet, It's in rudrapur, uttarakhand and I'm in Bombay... Going on the 12th, so I'll finally get to see it and hopefully ride it as well...

Vanson Leathers. They aren't cheap but they offer good protection with armor if you want it. Not exactly "cruiser" specific clothing, as you won't find any tassels or lot's of HD stickers But they definitely have some jackets that would fit better on a cruiser than a sport bike or cafe racer!

Not sure what your dad would be comfortable in, but I picked up a sweet set of thick leathers from HD both jacket and pants. No armor but it was heavy and much more durable than the cheap thin junk they sell. Even styled to look like it had been through a wreck or three.

I could easily imagine wearing some armor under the jacket to get it more oomph, but I really felt safe in that set.

I have leathers from this company, they are relatively cheap, all have CE approved armour and they do some nice classic style jackets, i've got the "sturgis" which I guess is supposed to be a harley jacket by the name, but looks more like a plain black sports jacket.

I've slid six foot in my jacket and it didn't show a scratch.

+1 for Vanson. Tell him to buy quality gear and not cheap out. Skip the chaps and buy armoured leather pants too.

My personal favorite leathers are Spidi and I'd wear mine on a cruiser but can see why most wouldn't.
