My 2012 250r SE

My bike finally arrived after waiting 3 months for it!

Here it is, the first photo was when i went to first see it at the dealership. The second one is from today, after I asked for all the blue decals to be removed. Yay its finally here... now I just have to learn to ride it...

Congrats on the bike. Now don't do what I did, I dropped my brand new ninja the first time I rode it.

Is that shade of green going to be available in the US? I like that shade better than the metallic candy green

I almost did! The first time I got on the bike after it was delivered to my place. Being really short and forgetting my driveway was uneven in all the excitement... Not a good combination, I think I missed quite a few heartbeats!

But the candy green is heaps good, I was hoping we'd get that colour here in Australia! But only because it would match my car perfectly

Yep, I've been reading up on the DIY threads about lowering it, i'd love to avoid almost dropping it again!

Yep, you assumed correct. I can get the top of the balls of my feet down on very flat ground, but every other time, I'm on my tip toes.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look around for them.

Congrats on the bike.

To be honest, I think you should've first learned how to ride and then bought the bike. Whatever floats your boat, though.

I was originally going to get a used bike to learn on but got offered mates rates on this one that I just couldn't turn down. It was a take it now, or leave it offer. Don't worry, I share your opinion!

Congrats. I pick up my red one during the week. You didn't have to see a red one at your dealership did you? I have no idea what the 2012 red looks like

Thanks! No I didn't see one. I was told that at the moment Kawasaki can't keep up with the orders from all over Australia, but whatever the the colour chosen is, it will be the same as on their website as they've updated the site for 2012 models.
From the site, it looks awesome to me, congrats in advance:

Thanks Everyone tried to talk me out of it by saying that it probably won't look as good without them. They still haven't admitted they're wrong!

It looks much better with out the decals. Green and Blue never goes well together. What were they thinking.

The red on the website is the same as the 2011 red. I'll be happy with that one. Only have a few more days to wait to find out anyway

You will love that bike. The 250r help me remember was is was like to be a new rider, it's not more than you can handle, and more than you would really need.

Ive actually already become quite used to it, which surprised me, just struggling with the gear changes a bit since i've never driven a manual car, other than when i learnt to drive. Lots of fun, only gone 60km/hour so far, but don't think i'm ready for the freeways at 100km's yet!

70mph?! I don't think we even have any roads here, including freeways, that have these speeds! The highest we go is 110kms... legally... I don't like my luck with the cops since I always seem to get pulled over for random breathalyzers in my car, something about the way I look (or drive?!).

I got up to 70kms on my street which is limited at 50kms. Felt pretty badass

Freeways are 55-75 MPH depending where you are.

That's crazy! Generally our freeways are 100km/hr but the main freeway that I need to take most places is 80km's as you get closer to the city... Man, we get shafted so bad here in Australia!

Sorry, my phone wasn't loading the photo before.
Yep, it's my sword attachment
It's actually a bag rack that Kawasaki Australia threw in for delaying shipment of my bike. Came with a Ventura bag, took it off for the moment as I don't need a huge bag on the back yet.

I can tell you that you will like a tank bag for that bike, that is if you don't have a backpack, I have a few and the one I like the best is the Rapid transit. The come in different sizes.
