Well today on the way home on the freeway my bike was reading 10k at 80 mph to should be 8k so I pulled on and took the frontage road and in 6th gear I am at 8k at 60 mph and i do not think that it is a bad speedo b/c it feels like it is running at that high of an rpm dose anyone ever have this problem or know what this could be thanks in advance

So these values are different from what you have seen in the past? If so how much different. The spedo on the Ninja is know to be off by as much as 10%.
For my '09 6th gear at 5k is an indicated 50 mph and a true 45 by radar.

I read a very long discussion on the kf board about an igniter issue, that was initially identified because the tach was reading different measurements at different times of day even though the bike speed was constant. From what I read there, it seemed that the igniter issue not only caused the tach to read incorrectly, but also affected the actual operation of the engine. Here's a link to that thread.
That said, the numbers you listed for what your tach was reading don't seem strange to me.

interesting... cause I'm also 7k in 6th gear for 100km/h (or 60mph). If it faults or starts to, would the igniter be covered under warranty you think?

sure sounds like the ignitor problem if your rpm reading has changed and you're positive the clutch is not slipping. is your bike still under warranty? |

I remember that thread. I have the same problem from hot to cold. I wonder if my dealer will fix it. I think there should be a recall on this.
