downgrade! cha-ching!

i cracked open my yoshi headers, so i threw on the oem headers and can and my stocker carbs. its really nice not having my ears bleed when i rev it up. 60mpg is really really nice too. not that much of a power loss. maybe a few hp. i'm commuting on it so i'm satisfied.

Still don't know how everyone gets 60mpg, I can only get that if I keep it down to 60 on the freeway.

I do need to check my idle, as when I come off the freeway the idle can be a bit high, but only sometimes....

But what does the idle have to do with mpg on the freeway?

i get 60 when it's all city too.

Last time I had an all highway gas tank, i was somewhere around 40 mpg. those constant high rpm's take their toll.

back to the op... earplugs yo. earplugs.

rpms below 7k == 60mpg
rpms above 7k == 45mpg

Well, glad my mpg doesn't drop that badly, I still get around 50 if I keep it between 8 and 9, but below 7k is just so slow.

This weekend I'm going to change out the chain and sprockets, and I'm already using a 15t front, and I'm going to switch to a 42t rear, so we'll see what that does for me.

I would not ride without earplugs. The RS3 exhaust was way too loud in my ears to not use them.

Me too, but I weigh a lot and keep it in the higher RPMs to compensate.

I'm over 7k a decent amount, and can usually still squeeze over 60mpg. Depends. Then I decide that I want to go faster, and I get something like 50mpg.

I only get 35mpg on my N300 and it's supposed to be the more fuel efficient model

(I have gotten 60+ before but it's not common)
