How hard do you guys ride your ninjette?

I usually don't take to over 10000 rpms but it just feels like its hard on it taking to 8 or 9 through first and second what do yall think?

Trust me...the ninja can take it.
I rode from Ocoee, Tennessee to Warner Robins, GA down I75 in 90+ deg heat with it turning 10g the entire way. Im 6'3" and 185lbs, and the bike had a fully loaded tankbag, and saddlebags. The bike couldnt care less.

The only time I slowed down was to get gas.

These things are darn near bulletproof. Dont be afraid to wind it up, thats what it was designed to do. I dont think Id run bouncing it off the rev-limiter the entire time, but running 9-10g for hours on end wont hurt it a bit.

Just keep good clean oil and filter in it, and make sure you've got coolant...and your good to go.

I'm on it pretty hard, to point of wanting more and a bigger bike..
Mine took an hour solid at 90+ on interstate and never complained.

I was curious about this too. I keep mine between 9k and 11k all the time. If it's below that I feel like I have no control whatsoever on my bike.

I have pushed the engine past all limits of reasonable service. The only thing that will hurt it is neglect .Change the oil do the service and it will last. Reving it to 13500 will not hurt it at all.My limiter is set at 14500.

Of course - everything should be up to operating temp before any significant load or revs are put on the motor. That doesn't mean it needs to warm up while stationary, but the first few minutes while riding the bike should be on the gentle side until oil temp / coolant temp / engine block/head temp are all where they need to be for max revs / max power.

I run mine to redline at every stop sign and light. If you want to ride slow, you bought the wrong kind of bike.

I let it warm up, however long that takes, before I run it hard. Usually that is about 500 feet to the stop sign. On colder days, it can take longer.

You want to warm up the engine before pushing it .But warming up the engine riding easy in traffic. Keeping it below 9000 RPM is OK. But waking the throttle and shifting off the revlimiter of a cold engine will scuff the piston sides and reduce compression over time.

I ride her hard, she likes it that way. I like feeling her vibrate between my knees, I love to hear her scream when I hit her red line, it's like ecstasy

But of course you want to take it nice and easy at the start, make sure she gets hot first then BAM

I wont purposely keep it at high rpms but I also dont restrict it to low rpms either. Depends on the area. I'm accelerating, nobody is in front of me, sure i'll ride her hard up to speed and then back off to coast if necessary. In town, I prefer around 6-8k rpms.

I've only had mine to 10k so far but it only has 115 miles on it.
I do plan on taking advantage of the full rpm band in about 50 more miles.

Everybody has an opinion, I have mine. If the Ninjette was my only bike I'd probably spank it hard to get my thrills. But for me its mostly my commuter and I bought it to last for several years to provide fun rides at great economy. Even when I spank it, it's like a non event. Read my posts, I love the bike it does everything I want it to and handles like a dream. But my other bikes the, 1300 FJR, and 1100 Guzzi are the bikes I own for high power performance. When I spank them hard it's a real kick in the pants and they do it with aplomb and no stress. I guess it depends on what you bought the bike for. In my case mostly just fun, cheap, city commuting. Having said that, I've led several rides on the Ninjette with my liter bike friends and I'll take her to the max on these occasions and she holds her own.

i have an extremely loud MGP growler exhaust so the only time i keep rpms low is when im in a residential neighborhood late at night, or when 5-0 is around.

i usually shift close to redline and on highway im doin 90-95 in 6th at about 11-12k
