Alvaro Bautista Completes Two-Day Test At Misano - Prelude To A Wildcard?

Toprak Razgatlioglu is not the only WorldSBK rider to be given a test on a MotoGP this season. Amid a flurry of press releases and a social media blitz, Alvaro Bautista has had a two-day test on the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 at Misano, at the private test organised with Honda and Ducati.

According to the press release, Bautista did 99 laps, with a best time of a 1'32.590, using soft tires on the fourth lap of a longer run, though Bautista was not chasing a fast lap. To put that into perspective, the race lap record of*1'31.868 was set by Enea Bastianini in the race last year, while Pecco Bagnaia holds the pole record of 1'31.065, set in 2021. Qualifying in 2022 was conducted on a track which was still drying after spots of rain. Bautista set his best time on a fully dry track.
