Best all season riding pants?

I am looking for a pair of riding pants that are practical for all seasons. (i.e. Mesh/breathable textile with a removable thermal liner. Knee armor is a definite must, but i haven't been able to come across any pants that meets these specs... any recommendations?

I've been using Joe Rocket Ballistic 7.0's since the temps dropped in October. It has removable knee/hip padding too. They're overpants, so I'm not sure if that's what you had in mind. I removed the liner when I first started using them, but now have the liner in. With the liner in and just jeans, I'm comfortable into low 40's. It uses zippers down the side for vents as well. They would probably be a little too hot for texas summers. I can't think of many pants that would keep you warm enough in winter and cool enough in summer. I think for summer, I'm getting some T-Pro forcefield armor and just wear that under my jeans.

Clint, Check out ICON. I wore a pair all summer and it was really hot.

Scorpion Deuce Overpants might suffice as well if you choose to wear over something. I'm 6ft approx 34-36 waist and I have a size XL. I wear jeans under or shorts depending on the occasion. Works great for me.

Only issue I have is that knee armor in the overpants/pants are quite pointless. Purely because the pants are baggy and the armor will never stay in place. I'd recommend independent knee armor like knox cross knee guards or icon knee guards. Mesh panels for summer, windproof/waterproof liner for winter.

If you choose to use it for all season riding. Overpants are probably the way to go so you can layer up if you need to. A fitted leather pant with built in knee armor is designed to be snug so the armor doesnt shift around.

My wish list for riding pants include the BMW City 2 Pants. I've not been able to get them living overseas because of shipping issues with the retailers, but they look tremendous and have gotten great reviews: City 2 Pant Review

Speed and strength hell and back pants, textile pants with armor. Have zip off panels around the thighs that have mesh underneath for when it's hot and come with a breathable waterproof liner.
