Wheel Alignment
My DRIIs were mounted last night. When I put my back wheel back on, set the chain tension, and checked the alignment of the hash marks, my right chain adjuster plate w still loose. Before I removed my wheel, both sides had 8 threads exposed. Now, my chain side is still at 8 threads, but I had to tighten the right side to 9 threads to snug the plate to the swing arm again. Did I do something wrong, or is it the facts of life?
I also found out the front and rear axle use two different sizes of cotter pins. Have to buy a new box for the front now. First world problems... |

You should not have changed the original adjustment.
All you have to is pushing the tire all the way forward before and during torquing the shaft.

It looked off center when I did that. At least I know it was only one turn in. I can work on it again tonight after work.

Those marks are not to be trusted; they are just an indication of the shaft is at in its range of movement.
This is the proper way to a wheel aligment: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showp...2&postcount=23
