Exclamation 1993 250 f7

I have a 93 250 ninja. I had the battery off recently for other repairs. When i hooked the battery back up and went to start the bike, none of the dash lights or headlights came on. When i went to start it the lights turned on while it was turning over. When the engine started the lights turned off and it ran for about 15 seconds then shut off and will only stay running if i give it throttle. Idk if its the regulator or the battery so i need some help from some more eexperienced in motorcycle repair.

12.7 is fully charged, and 12.5 in 90% - but it's not the whole story.

Now keep the meter on the battery when you hit the button and see what it reads. If it drops into the 10V or below range it's bad.

A battery can show fully charged when sitting, but drop to an unusable level when under load, so you need to check both.

It didnt change much when i started it with the multimeter still on the battery. I rechecked all my grounds and made sure all my wire were completely connected. Other thendoing all the research i did i dont what else to do other then order a regulator.

Sounds like that may be the next step then.

Just best to eliminate and confirm all the simple/basic stuff before moving on.

I guess I'd be looking for a bad ground, bad wire, bad fuse, bad connection, etc.

Start tracing power from the battery and check connections as you go.
