Replacement bolts?

I tried searching the forums and I couldn't find anything on this particular topic.

Somehow one of the bolts and washer on one of the side covers went missing and I didn't discover it until we put on the fender eliminator. I have a picture of which one it is posted below. My fiance said wasn't a huge deal and went with it until I saw that cover wasn't quite seated correctly and needed that bolt to stay in place. Ryan already checked his work and he said that they don't have them in stock, it will have to be special ordered and probably entered into their ordering system (because no one seems to order anything related to the 250 at Chaparral)... which is an absolute pain in the ass. Since I have barely any automotive/bike experience I figured I would ask, is this something I can I just pick at an auto parts store or Lowes? They are parts number 92200A (washer, nylon, 5.2x12x1) and 92154A (bolt, socket, 5x10).

A hardware store with a good inventory of fasteners should have those parts. Another good source would be a fastener supply store (check your phone book)Get them in Stainless.

I lost both of those bolts too, I got em mfrom the dealership, i think they were 1,50 each.

Imho you wouldnt want anything from the hardware store, this is a visible part of your bike and just replacing it with a regular screw would make it kinda ugly... 1,50 $, for some OEM kawi bolts, why not, + they are painted.

My dealership (Chaparral) wants $2 for the bolt and $2 for the washer.

@Sailariel thanks for the advice.

I lost the EXACT same bolt. Went to Lowe's and got a replacement with a regular flat-head screwdriver slot. Look for the assortment of nylon washers, as well!

Good to hear that I can run to Lowes and find it. Pretty sure I'm going to lose that stupid little bolt one more than just once.

Being OCD, I can't stand having fairing bolts that don't match and that require a different tool to undo like fasteners, but that's just me. I usually will spring for OEM replacement fasteners when/if I need them.

Just order a lot more than one or two bolts at your friendly OEM bike parts website. I did that for the rivets because I kept destroying them every time I had to remove the fairings.

Turned out Ryan found a replacement at Chaparral that fits the bike and use the same tools... now I have a CBR part in my 250, wonder if she will go faster now.
