Overboard with oil change?

Little history on my bike.
Bought it in early September with 950 miles on it.
Previous owner said that it just had oil change. (I believe him, the oil in the window was crystal clear).

Right now I have 1700 miles on the bike, and I feel I cant wait any more to change the oil. (oil is really black, it has been almost 800 miles since the last one on a brand new engine, and for some reason it is filled all the way to the top - I dont even see an air bubble on the top, when I checked it when I bought it oil was in the middle).

Anyhow, I am going to attempt my oil change next week, switching to Rotella T6.

I will have roughly about a month left to ride it, and I will be putting it up for the winter (I estimate, that I will put about 500-800 miles on the bike).

Should I change the oil AGAIN before I put it up, so that it is nice and clean during winter? Or just ride for a month, and not worry about changing the oil again before storage?

Thanks

800 miles since the last change, the oil that's in there is probably fine. Put in fresh oil and a filter right before winter storage. In the spring, the oil will still be fine provided there are no signs of excessive moisture.

still running the stock airbox/filter? ususally aftermarket high flow filters or even pod filters will make the oil look a little dirtier then usual as you put the miles on..
