mystery numbers on motor

I just picked up a 08 parts bike for my pre gen race bike build.. aparrently the motor was locked up and the odo only had 1400 miles .. I have yet to mess with the motor to check it but ill get to it hopefully this weekend...
but my question is the motor has some numbers on it written with what looks like a paint marker.. is this normal or is this leading to something else there

heres the bike as I brought it home

LOL

"here's the bike as I brought it home".

I'm not really sure that what's in the image would qualify as a bike in my book.

Regarding the question, sorry, I can't help. Maybe it's the date that the engine was last serviced - October 7, 1926.

Man, you just scored one of the vintage '26 models. Those things are like gold here on this site.

Seriously, I think those are standard from Kawi. Mine has several paint marks on the case, inside and out.

It's not much to look at really but I originally went up there to pick up the front suspension to use on the race bike.. Ended up getting the whole thing I figure it was t bad for what I paid and now have a front and rear suspension rear wheel and a set of carbs to put on the racer and I can part whatever is left
