OK ever hear of this? I go riding for a bit, an hour or so when I come back home I pull into the car port and I cant get the bike into neutral. I Don't think I pulling up to hard from first.Eventually It goes in to N. Ever hear of this?
Other than that it shifts fine, No crazy jerking or lugging. |

You may be crazy but that would be beside the point. I hit this on my bike fairly often.
I have to push my bike in and out of my back area every day and put it in neutral to do it. It seems like after I have been riding I hit the problem, I just shift to some other gears and then back to neutral and usually it finds it pretty quick. I can't say why or how but I also have not had any other problems shifting. Quote:

how many miles do you have and have you done an oil change, yet?
exactly what are you doing right before you try to put it into neutral? |

Kelly, I have 170 miles, I did the oil change at 120. I am just riding normal, I usually downshift to 2nd pull into the drive way drive into the car port, stop shift down to 1st then back up to N but sometimes it wont go into to N.

is the bike moving when you shift down to first? I think it has to do with how the positive neutral finder works, but I could be wrong.
try this... If you can't get it into neutral after putting it in first, try rocking the bike back and forth and see it that allows you to nudge the bike into neutral. |

Try a short ride and come to a complete stop then go into neutral. My bike does the same and I'm at 21 miles. Thinking this is just a noon mistake on my part and true a complete stop and it worked.

So try that, and see if that doesn't fix the problem. |

This happens to me every once in awhile. I rock it like kkim described and it goes into N. No biggie.

If you stop while in 2 or above then downshift while stopped , on occasion, it will stick. Either shift down to first while rolling (a good habit to be in any-how) or just rock the bike a bit to get it to shift.
