Aftermarket Rims?

So after toasting my 300 this weekend, I found out the stock 300 front wheel is $507 retail. Anyone running aftermarket rims? Dunno if the 25 and 300 are interchangeable, but figured at that price, I may wanna go aftermarket anyway. . .
Thanx,
Joel

don't know but remember there is the speedo cable in front and the rear is supposed to be a wider rim to accomodate larger tire profiles... the swingarm looks identical though and the spacers look the same so i would think a 250 rear wheel would work on a 300... not sure about the front though but if you decide to try it, the older ex500 rim (entire frontend really) is the same as the 08-12 250 except cheaper on fleabay

i think the extra 50ccs might already disqualify him from 250supersport... which is why he races in ULWS with the other cheater bike.

didn't they say in the rider meeting they were revising the shootout rules because of it?

besides. he isn't racing for money or points. its for fun. and going from one stocker wheel to another stocker wheel doesn't exactly seem like much of an improvement... but i guess if you want to give the guy a hard time after he crashed his bike...

lol yeah, supposedly ULWS is now "formula", and since there's no 300 SS (yet), I'm stuck with one race/day on the 300. But that info's handy for when (not if) the 300 SS grid shows up. Thanx, Tiff.

-_- I wasn't even complaining. I just thought before he spent a couple hundred on a part that would make him no longer super sport legal, I'd give him a heads up in case he cared. There's just no winning with some people......

Check the part number on the micro fiche for the 250 against the 300. If they are identical you have a match. You could easily find a used 250 Front wheel online. If not, you will be stuck buying a $500 rim to stay legal.

not that the aftermarket guys are scrambling to make Ninja 300 rims anyway

so is ULWS changing to formula rules? or they simply changed the displacement to 300cc/150cc 2-stroke? but still oem only engine cuts? they said they were "going to change the rules to allow the 300 and rs125"... but what does that really mean?

can't we have a formula race that 250s qualify for? i would prefer ULWS to be formula rules simply on the grounds that it makes racing cheaper. you aren't forced to buy oem wheels, oem brake disks, oem engine parts... if something breaks you can fix it/replace it with a cheaper alternative simply because its not oem parts that have to be made extra then stored in a warehouse for 10 years just in case someone needs them... that is what people say the point of the 250 class is, right? to be cheap? yet we get forced into pure oem stuff. sure you can buy marchensini wheels and throw in high comp JE pistons with a ported and polished head and get that extra 3 horse power... or go buy a 300cc...

The ULWS is currently SS rules. There was no mention of it being formula rules.

However, I do think it should be formula rules as well with a CC limit. Dustin and I are talking about it right now.

I'm gonna convince him to allow up to 499cc so I can buy the CBR500R and race with you guys. Nuckas!!! Bwahahahahaha!

I was looking at that thing... it would be a pretty fun formula bike but def belongs in lightweight. But some day I'll have my 125rs with the SXV450 motor...

Nem: if we're in there changing rules, can you try to change the OEM brakes to "OEM caliper, metallic (no carbon or ceramic) rotor of stock diameter" ?

That way we can buy cheap aftermarket rotors.

For the 250 class? Yeah, they need to change that. OEM rotors are so expensive.

Ah I see why you feel that way. My bad.

Though understand the net is very 2 dimensional so my comments can be misinterpreted if not convey a tone like I'm all that which is further from the truth.
