Copart
I transport cars for people, that's my job, and sometimes I get calls for a transport from the Copart auctions in Cali. I have one customer who gets Gixxers, CBRS and Kawis all the time and I think he ends up fixing them and re selling them. Has anyone ever looked into this?

Yea I have a friend that does it. He buys mostly mustangs and fixes though. A lot of people are weary of buying a salvaged bike though, unless you're gonna race it stunt it.

I have checked out Copart on a quasi-regular basis since a 17-year-old drove his pickup into my van at a net 90mph (left turn into me, both doing 45) killing the van (would've been me too except for side impact beams). I had to deliver title to Copart to get my total check.
Occasionally I've seen a bike come up with 'normal wear' but most, unless you're prepared to do a complete rebuild &/or check *everything* for potential repair, are not worth bidding on. However, if you've got the mechanical skill, you can probably snag a good deal. |
