Car takes down a motorcycle and runs

Link to original page on YouTube.

Chase footage

Link to original page on YouTube.

Apparently the riders were able to corner the car in a parking lot and called the police. The police decided to let the car go and charge the rider who got hit with reckless driving. Hopefully the rider heals quickly.

...how did the biker get charged? can clearly see the car swerving into the opposite lane, for no apparent reason. didnt use a turn signal, and decided to speed off because he did it on purpose.

lolwut...

That's why a lot of guys on bikes wouldn't call the police and would instead teach the guy that it's a bad idea to do that sort of thing themselves.

It's completely understandable that the car ran; the driver was probably afraid for their life. When there's a huge group of bikers like that, they could easily kill you if you stopped. I'm not justifying their asshole manuever from hell but when you are scared for your life, you do some crazy ****.

that argument doesnt work though lol. it's to be expected. Wonder what the driver of the car told the police.

"yeah...i purpously hit this guy, then i got scared because i was surrounded by his buddies, so i ran.."

It looked to me like a swarm of motorcycles are going down the road. No reguard for the lanes anyway. Then swarm around the only car in the picture. A bike comes from behind at about double the cars speed . The driver changed lanes . maybe to get out of the way of a set of lights coming at him from behind. Then the motorcycle in the blind spot went down.
It's just my two cents. But it looks like a bunch of children playing in traffic and one got hurt.

look closer. the 2 bikes directly in the front of the car in the beginning, stay in front of the car. Theres a guy on the left and on the right, he hit the guy that was in the front of him, staying on the right. right at the 12 second mark you can still see the same riders taillight, still in front of the car. car then slightly speeds up and hits him.

No. The bike that was hit was in the drivers vision before dropping back into the drivers blind spot but he was in a swarm of motorcycles riding to intimidate, making it impossible to keep track were every rider was.

Racer X got it right.

Nah, you're both wrong. The rider was at his 2 or 3 o'clock, the rate at which the driver went into the other lane and rapidly accelerated tells the opposite. It was a blatant hit and run. End of discussion.

Bikers stupid decision to chase pretty much made it possible for the car to get away with it. Doesn't make what the car did right but a group of retarded riders chasing a car while breaking every traffic law doesn't exactly look innocent either.

It does not matter. As soon as the video started I did not see anyone riding in a safe or even sane manner.

This type of riding is a sure fire trip to the hospital for someone.

And then there are the two bikes. Side by side with the car on there rear end. Why? They are not passing anyone. They should get over the the right. That is what the bikers would tell a car going slow in the left lane.

I am willin to bet this whole thing started long before the video did.

the guy @ the 3 o clock in the verry beginning of the video (whos has a blue glow to him) is the guy who got hit, he was in the same spot the entire time throughout the video and out of nowhere the car made a ridiculous and irrational turn, intentionally hitting the biker..

which is what i was saying in my previous post. Derp. the rider in front of the car was always in front of the car, until the car intentionally hit him. derp derp

I saw the rider on the ground and no one stopping to help him. Was chasing the car more important?

Read some comments on you tube and there was a near miss earlier so the biker gang was definitely harassing the car. Dumb ass 500 lb bikes trying to bully a 2500 lb car. I love it when people like that get together. Only good can happen. With a bit of luck we can get the exacta, and the whole gang gets charged with reckless endangerment. Trifecta, the car driver will get that charge as well.

As a rider for many years, and a driver for almost as many years, I feel for drivers. I find when I come up on a bike, and I'm in a car, I worry about what the biker is going to do. I find most riders (just like most drivers) are dangerous. They are either too cautious (which is the worst rider), too wild, too unpreditable, and/or feel like they own the road and I should make way for them. Drivers are the same but if you hit them the car gets damaged but the driver doesn't die.

^Wow nice to see what happened beforehand for a change. People seem to never post pre incident footage.

They were riding like immature idiots, but that car hitting the guy was still uncalled for.

It looks like the driver changed lanes after the guy waving his arm signaled and started to get in behind him. It did not look like a big deal.

I like the way the camera operation yells "wow" it sounds like a speed racer cartoon.
Also the asshat riding on the shoulder. I bet he cries about his flat tires.

I went to the video's channel and read the comments, they're saying the driver had hit another rider before all this stuff we get to see. I guess there is no video of it because is not in the channel.
I do believe the driver did it on purpose because of how fast he changed lanes and how quick he sped up after the action.
I repeated that one section of the video many times and this is what I see... rider who was hit was at car's right lane, first in front and as driver got closer to rider directly in front, the rider on the right lane became parallel to the tire area or fender, then rider gets in the driver's same lane appearently right next to his tire or slightly in front (fender) and this is when the driver moves over to his right and hits the rider.
obviously no reason for so many bikes to follow a car trying to stop it. just make sure you get the plate, stop, call the cops, ambulance, and that's it.
hopefully the rider is ok

If a jury ever looks at this the driver will be let go for self deference. The motorcycle gang overreacted to the driver tiring to get through the gangs criminal behavior he should get a traffic ticket for cutting off that one motorcycle. After that he is acting in self deference. The riders deserve to be in jail but not a pine box. I am fine with him being stuck in a hospital bed for a long time.

The thing is . If you find yourself in a situation like this. If you are in a car. Slow down let the gang go. Don't mingle or ride through them. And if you find yourself with a bunch of hooligans. Drift to the back and just watch the mayham. Unless you like hospital food and want to watch Jerry Springer reruns..

well lets see.

the riders are most likely already going over the speed limit..the car wants to go faster and doesnt know what to do. so what does he do? plow his way through the group easily going 15mph faster, putting all the derps around him in more danger, on top of that he clips a rider whose already out of the way, for no apparent reason.

im sure alot of you would let that slide but if i saw that happen to a friend id go after the ****er too.

I TOTALLY agree these people are riding their motorcycles like crazies. When I see people that ride like this, I often question if they really value their life or not, or maybe they think they're invincible? Regardless, the driver pulled some pretty stupid moves himself. I didn't see anywhere in the video where he was in danger of his life, unless one of the bikers pointed a gun at him? He had no right to start plowing people over in his car. He should have called the police, or gotten off the highway. Not sure the laws in CA, but in Florida in order to use deadly force, you must be in legitimate fear of your life, and I didn't see anything but road rage by both parties. The police must not have seen this video when they let the driver go. If they considered this self defense, and not a hit and run....the driver could have hit and knocked down pretty much every single one of those motorcyclist.

It's also hard to see, but from what I gather the rider that got knocked down was well ahead of this, probably oblivious to what was going on until he got hit. If that's true that's just not right.

its like of like an angry mob situation,
once everybody gets angry they just pick on anyone different.
only real way to avoid getting trapped is to gradually get out, and watch.

as much as i like jerry springer reruns and enjoy fighting people, i AM a food snob, so the hospital trip is out.
