Couple Questions on AiM Solo and 2008-2012 Ninjette
First question is really a favor. If anyone has mounted an AiM Solo on their 2008-2012 EX250 would love to see a picture of the mounted device.
Second question is two part: The DL version of the Solo can read a bike or car's ECU. AiM does not officially support the EX250. Has anyone managed to adapt a Solo DL to read their Ninjette's ECU? If so, does the ECU give anything useful other than RPM? Thanks in advance. |

Ninjette doesn't have a CAN driver so DL will do you no good.
You'll need to go to something with analog channels to datalog. I removed the dash and welded a piece of sheet metal to the fairing stay for our Solo. |

Thanks! After submitting my post realized my second question about the ECU was, how shall I say, 'uninformed'. I've got a couple leads on used Solos and just wanted to make sure there wasn't a good reason to hold out for a Solo DL. For now it is a track day/daily rider so a plain Solo should be good enough.

The ECU is just controls a 2D RPM-based ignition map. So all you're gonna get out of it is RPM data.
Although if you tie in to the crank-sensor signal, you can obtain the actual amount of ignition-advance. Not sure how helpful that is though. |

I think it's the same set up on the 250s and the 300s. Since I have clip ons, I just used the OEM handlebar mounting holes. Used a small piece of aluminum plate to mount the AIM mounting bracket.
