Hotbodies Fender Install
Hey guys!! I have been leeching on here for about 8 months and decided to actually post something worth while. I have a few mods to my '10 green se ninjette. (mainly cosmetic)
I finally decided to go for the Hotbodies fender. So I will be sharing my experience. I started by reading these VERY helpful forums: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...fender+install http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...fender+install (I don't get started without searching high and low on here first) I decided to delete the stock fender rather than covering it. I got the smoked version and shot a light layer of paint on the backside to help it look black (I wanted to cover my BikeMonkeyz tailight). I also decided to fashion a bracket thingy to mount the light on, as I didn't like the idea of it simply sitting in the tail. I wanted to share so everyone could see the option I took and decided which route to go. The pictures should be self-explanatory. Read the other walk-thrus first if you are looking to do an install. Thanks for all the help guys!! Morgan |

I was back and forth for a bit and decided to just to do it with my tax return. I moved the rear brake reservoir too so the tail will be about as clean as possible without major body work or something crazy.

I have the same smoked undertail, got it for about $50 because I live right next to the Hotbodies warehouse. It was a pain in the arse to install. I'm a mechanic noob but it took me two days to get it all tidied up. A friend had to help as well. I had to dremel part of the mud shield off too.
It's BEAUTIFUL though. Makes the bike look super aggressive. |

Nice job on getting it cheap! I love the way it looks. PLUS since I got rid of the stock fender, I FINALLY have enough room for my cover and tool kit. Imagine that.

I've got the same undertail... id pic whore but its harder to do on my phone... you can xhexk my profile. Where did you decide to put your plate? I did mine off the axle bolt to keep the tail clean. On an unrelated note... what tank pads are those?

Another local person with an integrated taillight and aftermarket undertail.
Anyway, when I was in SD, I was told that I'd simply be able to avoid shipping by going to the Hotbodies HQ... not that I could get an undertail for $50! |

I just got the hotbodies kit installed two days ago. It looks nice, but I paid a mechanic to do it. I took the bike in to have everything checked and serviced before the summer. It looks nice, and the lights are super bright. The blinker blinks twice as fast as it used to on stock. I am still trying to get used to it.
I had to ride it back from the service in the pouring rain, and my back seat was COVERED in sand! I guess the fender in the back does have its uses!

I love mine. Just wish my brake light was a bit more visible during the day. I still have the stock light.

My wifie convinced me not to get rain gear because we live in San Diego and its a year round riding season with very minimal rain. |

I sold my TransAm convertible to get this motorcycle so I have to ride in the rain also but it still doesn't rain that often.
How much was your rain gear and where did you get it from, if you don't mind me asking. |

I ride in the rain occasionally, but not too often. I still like the look of the fender eliminator, so if I get a little muddy in the back in the rain, whatever... I will put my fiancee in the back!

nice work prep work is important
great work on the install so important to not have any sag on this project if everything is not tight a hard dumb breaks **** I'm on my third rear cowling due to this im finally taking the advice of your second link and following what he did and cut some extra plastic in the middle where our tools go and install the two bolts even though they will show above the liscene plate like in his daytime youtube video just to make sure I'm not buying any more cowling i keep breaking my upper tabs that fasten to my bike from under the passenger seat.
