First ride with my ninja 250 (Pics)
Went out riding today with a friend on mine. Rode for about 2 hours. Lots of fun. Still have to get used to it though. and the wind was a bit scary too.
Sadly my friends suzuki rf600 snapped its clutch cable in the middle of the street. had to push it out of the street and get it towed. Just happy my bike is doing ok lol |

I've read a number of stories of people managing to get their bikes home without a clutch, but it always sounds terribly exciting (figuring out how to never stop, and if you do stop, getting the bike moving by running alongside it and then popping it into first).

Ive had to do it...it is not easy. The upshifts are a piece of cake, but you better be real good at knowing your bike on the downshifts. Take backroads where you can rolling stop the stop signs, and avoid traffic lights like the plague.
I can tell you this...I'd run clutch less before I'd pay some joker 100 bucks to tow my bike. |

lol yea that seems like it would be hard. the bike wouldn't start though which was weird. it just cranked and started for 2 seconds even with the throttle open.

Clean looking black bike. Just need to polish your rim lips and join the club!
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=107970 Also, he was already paying the tow, should've ridden your bike on the back of the truck XD

I gotta say I wouldn't have paid for a tow. A bike can fit in the back of your own truck...call a friend. Save a hundred bucks.

heres hopefully a tip that everyone can use. Dont have a truck or a friend/relative with one? If you live around a Home Depot they offer their pick up truck rental for $19.99 (at least in MI) for 75 minutes. And each additional hour is $10. Then every 10 miles drive, put 1 gal of gas, They also rent ramps $4 for 4 hours or $5 for 24 hour period.
much cheaper alternative, you just might need someone else to help get it up. nice SE btw

What about buying a spare clutch cable, running it through the bike alongside the existing cable. Zip tie the end so it's not in the way of anything. Then when you're on that tour of nowhere and your cable breaks, you hook up the new one, adjust, and go. I've been wanting to do it - could anyone give me a good reason I shouldn't?
