Chain maintenance

My chain has got a bit of slack and needs tightening, I got all the tools but no bike stands. Can it be done leaning on the kick stand ?

I need to cause I plan on doing all my own maintenance. Except for checking valves. Can you recommend a stand.

Stand is easier to check chain slack. Is it out of spec or does it "look" like it's out of spec? Harbor freight has a cheap stand that people like but personally I have one from T-rex racing. Rock solid and cheaper than pitbull.

In a pinch you can jack it up. Just have someone holding it the whole time while adjusting.

I've used 2 jack stands and 2 bolts in a pinch...
