Quick rant: Cycle Parts Nation

You know the site, right? Well, a couple days ago, I ordered a 2011 green/ebony SE left fairing from them. Total came out to $395 with shipping.
Today, one of the employees called me and said the site made a mistake and didn't charge me an additional $40 for shipping. WTF?
I asked them why the site didn't inform me of this mark up, & his excuse was, "The website needs to be updated."
Well, f*cking get on it then!
I decided to cancel the order. F*ck no, I'm not paying them extra. You can call me cheap. I don't care. It's the principle of the matter. They're a-holes for expecting me to pay the extra cash when they're the ones who made the mistake by offering pretty cheap f*cking shipping costs.
I'm just going to order my fairing through someone else. I don't have time for b.s.
Just wanted to rant. Sorry.

Yep. If I had known the actual shipping costs up front, no biggie. I'd have done it without a problem. It's when they start making their mistakes sound like it's your mistake, that's when I get pissed.

I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Once the sale is made, the contract is signed. They must be run by the federal government, or something.

I had a furniture store do that to me once. I held them to the origional chair, and sit in it every day. I don't shop there anymore.

UPDATE:

I noticed in my checking account that the money hadn't be refunded yet, so I called Cycle Part's customer service. I ended up speaking to the same dude who called me the other day. Guess what? Turns out he "accidentally" didn't refund the money that day when I f*cking asked him to!
@headshrink, I then decided to mention that I "heard it is illegal for a company to suddenly charge more money after a sale because of their OWN mistake," but the guy read some passage from the company's Terms & Conditions (or whatever it's called) that explained that the company can't be held responsible for additional fees.

They just lost a customer & I hope my complaint here encourages the rest of you guys to not do business with them either.

I'm certainly no expert on the law, but it seems to me their is a difference to CYA because the website was inocrrect, vs. Withdrawing additional money from your account after the contract was enacted.

They can claim that it was an error and that they are not responsible for price mistakes.

After money has changed hands? My understanding is that ownership transfers as soon as $$ changes hands.... However, I guess there was most likely a hold on the funds initially, as I believe you can't actually withdrawal money until the item is shipped. If that is the case, I would think they would need the buyer to OK the additional funds (the technology will run a card for whatever you type in, but that doesn't mean it's OK). When it all comes down to it, if the TOS lay it out, as they claim they do, maybe they are technically/legally covered, but it is Sh*** of them. I would think they would be obligated to take a return, otherwise it would be a one-sided, open-ended contract. If not, your CC will spank them with a fee, and give you your money back. As a small business owner, I had a charge-back one time, and I was NEVER notified about it, asked questions, nothing. The money, and fees was just taken right out of my account. I had a signed contract that stated the money was owed me, and was to be taken exactly the way it was, but they don't care. I don't bank with them anymore.

They withdrew my money before notifying me of the additional charge.

Bill at tygausa.com did the exact opposite: $40 was accidentally not applied to my online shipping purchase but he said the charge would not be added. Sorry about your experience.
