Removing cluster mount
I'm Talon, new to the forum although I've been reading all kinds of articles on here since I got my bike in February. I'm in the middle of a streetfighter build right now, and I'm having trouble removing the mount for cluster and the shroud around it. There's only two bolts holding it to the frame, I have everything unbolted, but on the mount is two rectangular metal hoops that hold the wires and cables from the controls on the bars. I just need to get the wiring out of the hoops so I can take it off, but I don't see any easy way to do that. Id greatly appreciate anyone's advice
I've attached a picture, you can see the metal hoop with the wiring going through it in the middle of the picture ninja 250r.jpg |

Option #1 Unhook all the cables and feed them through the loop.
Option #2 Use a cutoff wheel or bolt cutter to cut the loops. |

Less potential problems by using #2 above.

Thanks guys, i was considering using a cutoff wheel, but i wasnt too sure. By looking at the wiring though it doesnt seem simple at all to disconnect everything and run it through. Maybe i could try cutting a gap just big enough at the bottom and it may still be reusable

Dont cut it completely off. Just one slit then you can bend it open enough to get the loom out. Once you do everything you want, you can bend it back and only have a small slit.

I would suggest cutting the top or towards the top on the side that way it wont have a hole for the wires to fall out if you reuse it later.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've already cut it and just made a small gap on the bottom of the loop, got the job done and I'm sure it's still reusable.
