Talking Well g/f finally got brave enough

Well after riding for just over a year my g/f finally got brave enough to let me take her for a spin.I got my bike in oct 09 rode for a year in '10 then a few times this year,so i guess after all that bugging her she said yes.I know guys only a helment for me but i let her have my jacket, gloves and spare helment so she would feel safe.I only went for 1 km just to take her out while she said yes.We all know how fast woman change there mind lol.I have atgatt but this time. She buying her own gear now i hope.

Good to hear! Any chance she is going to want to get one of her own and ride along side you instead of catching a ride?

Haha, nice! I told my gf I wanted to wait at least a month after getting my bike to let her ride on the back. Granted I did have about 250-300 miles of previous experience, she couldn't get on fast enough and now I've taken her on 3-4 rides in the first 2 weeks. She's a very good passenger but you have to be careful because the bike handles a lot different with the added weight, mainly for braking and especially engine braking.

i know stopping is a little longer and doing slow corners are a little heavier as well. Its just her she cant get any marks on her or she will die omg remeber when we were kids.Scars give us something to talk about lol.I told her if she falls off i wont notice til i get home so she better hang on to me .I have put on 13000km last year so i guess it just her.She wanted to get a bike but just scared if she drops it she not strong enough to pick it up.I told her dont drop it then.

Pull the fairings off one side of your bike and gently set it on grass with blankets or something. Have her lift it up a few times the reverse way. It'll be easy for her. Just saying...

Depending on how urban an area you live in, it may not be a problem.

My first bike was an SV650S that I barely tiptoed and it used to tip over at 0mph all the time. I don't think I ever had to pick it up by myself.

Even out in the Nevada desert on the Extraterrestrial Highway, where I'd seen maybe 5 cars all day, it tipped over in some soft sand while I was taking a photo, and someone happened to leave the nearby military base and stopped their car to help me out.

Also have her check out this: http://www.pinkribbonrides.com/dropped.html

Congrats on getting her out on the bike.

Took my wife a few years to decide she wanted to ride her own motorcycle but now we are a 2 bike family, very fun...

Thats awesome that you got her on the bike! Mine went for her first ride recently too and the only thing stopping us from more rides is our 2 young kids. Mine says that she wants to learn to ride... we'll see how it goes!

becareful with doubling up...make sure you go extra slow and be extra careful...the bike's suspension is set up for you so another person onboard will totally change how the bike handles so don't ride it like you're riding normally.
