I don't need a cop to tell me I can ride on the sidewalk. I do that already.

Got stopped going 95 in a 40 zone at 4am the other night...cop pulled me over, checked my reg, told me not to speed, gave me my stuff...and drove off. No official warning or ticket.

Lucky you! Unfortunately for me, I received a ticket about 2 weeks ago. The cop was such an dick. Was approaching a 4 way stop and I saw his squad car sitting under the tree and my exhaust probably grabbed his attention. I stopped on the stop sign and proceeded and he chased me down. He literally pulled me over one house away from where I live. I was actually confused to why he pulled me over so I asked him why and he said I didn’t ‘stop completely’ and that I rolled through the stop sign. I argued with him briefly saying that I saw him sitting there so why wouldn’t I completely stop?! Then he was like, “you can contest it in court if you want” gave me the ticket and left. Seriously, it pisses me off everytime I see cars that don’t even stop completely and cops don’t give a **** about it. So now that I’m done ranting about it, don’t forget to stop completely with your FOOT down guys because according to the cop, you can’t stop completely without putting your foot down.. Douche bag...

Damn, that blows. Should also mention i was literally 2turns away from my house haha. Cop also thought i was running from him, wich i find hilarious..running from a cop on a 2fiddy. During the "chase" he called for back up, while i was standing there next to my bike 4 patrol cars roll up with lights/sirens blaring away...was hilarious but i had to hold it in since i didnt have my helmet on.

btw how much was the ticket? I know someone who got pulled over for not making a "complete stop" on a right turn, even though the other 4 cars ahead of him didnt completely stop either. ended up being 450+bucks.

Hah. You win some, you lose some. Contest that in court though. Although it's your word against his, you can make a decent argument that you were completely stopped for a brief enough time that you didn't need to put your foot down.

I'll bet you anything the charges are dropped and/or the cop doesn't show up.

Not sure yet gotta go to court but my father in law had one earlier this year and it was 380.. That's ridiculously expensive for such a minor violation. I am sure I stopped completely and I saw his fat ass sitting there before I came to the stop sign too. I remembered thinking how unusual a cop would be around here. Nut he pulled me over and I rather just pay for it along with traffic school and not risk my insurance to go up bc most likely they will believe the cop
