89 kawasaki

hey i got a ninja 250 its a 89 and how do i check the starter solenoid is broken. i cant see the head light displays or anything i checked the fuse and it was broke so i replaced and nothing how do i know if its broken like how do i do a test

Welcome, and to test the solenoid just take a screwdriver and touch it across both poles located on the top, if it cranks this way but not the starter button, then the solenoid is bad.

This is assuming you've already checked the connections, like battery etc....

Sidenote: there is a 30A fuse located on the solenoid, check that first to be sure it's not blown.

He has another thread where he's trying to bypass the ignition, just an FYI.

so what do i do it cranks. also to note i had it running before all of this and then it just stopped working on me liek no lights on the dash at first it was like dimming then nothign no more light nothing

Make sure the battery is charged 100%, and that it's still good, when in doubt replace it.

You have to start with a 100% battery, otherwise your wasting your time.

Also check all connections, redo them to make 100% sure.

ok ill unplug everything and replug it in and check all the wiring anything else i should check

its a brand new battery just bought 6 days ago so i checked everything i tested the solenoid and it works great its a wiring issue i just dont know where tho i unplugged it repluged it in still nothing idk where to start. also i check the ground wire its good so yeah where do i go from here
