beautiful bike! i agree that is a huge jump going from a 250 to a liter super sport. i can see how it would be hard to pass up though.

The Buell will be great for regular winding street riding, if you want to go 200mph then the Buell is not the choice. Do some reading over at Badweatherbikers.com in the forums. Also be aware that Buell is shut down and there may be no more bikes produced after December, Harley has committed to parts and service for 7 years and warranties until they expire. There are some real deals on them right now, wish I had the money for a brand new XB12XT Ulysses for a nice touring machine. Note that the XB12 bikes have only about 80 horses at the rear wheel, they also have 70 pound-feet of torque at the wheel.

All that said you should be able to get a really nice XB12R or XB12S for around $4000, you can get 06XB12X or XT used for $4500 if you look hard enough, and that comes with the luggage installed and ready for touring.

The 1125 R and CR are marked down to $5000 new at many dealers, so it comes with 2 year warranty. If you get an 08 1125 there were many fixes and recalls needed (from what I'm told).

That R1 is super nice but...... and I don't know your riding experience
but going from a Ninja 250 to a Yamaha R1 is flat out crazy. There is a HUGE difference. I mean SUPER MASSIVE difference. I say get the Yamaha R6 raven. Thats plenty of power to jump up to.
Just make think about it and make a smart, safe decision.

I just upgraded to the GSXR600 and the power difference is huge. You can get to 80mph (indicated) in first gear....
