If I ever get like super mega rich, I could easily see myself with a bike collection like that, and a car collection as well,...... and a track in my back yard. One can always dream I suppose.

That's phenomenal, Greg, thanks for the heads up!

Finally, something we can hold against the warm weather folk... You guys might still be riding, but I'm 40 minutes away from a sweeeeet auction!

No problem Steve. Did you end up starting a CB750 project or something like that?

That's the plan, yeah - a CB750k; I was originally looking at the DOHC years, but I'm thinking I may need to compromise because of availability and the extra work that a DOHC engine would mean. I've been having trouble finding one locally that I'm happy with (I'd like an unmolested, stock bike)... and also having some lack of available time issues.

I check the Craigslist just out of habit and most seem to be "cafe'd up" already.

I was thinking that it might have been my old Cafe (it's not). I did see about 5 or 6 bikes I need.

Rickman
Norton
VR1000R
Hustler
TR6
NRS 250
RD400

OK, I guess 7 would be nice.

If I'm up there I'll definitely go.

CC did you go? I didn't but stopped by the house of someone who went and got 2 bikes yesterday - a BSA from WW2 and a mids 60's Honda 90 road bike with 377 miles. Another friend bought a mx bikes (Bultaco and CZ) and another bought the NSU.

950 registred bidders overcrowded the place forcing some outside the building. After some high prices were paid, the crowd started to thin and then prices were more reasonable. Most buyers were folks looking for bikes that they once owned, so mostly enthusiasts.
I saw the sheet of prices paid tonight and IIRC prices were as follows (rounded to within $1K):
The TR6 fetched around $10K ?
NSR 250 was in rough shape and went for 2800
a mint CB750 went just under 10,000
rickman was around 9000
cbx around 8000
norton 8000
xlcr 8000
xlh 7000
HD "enduro bikes" around 2-3000 (I am told a couple bought all the HD stuff)
laverda 12,500
minitrails and qa50 500-1000
vf1000r around 3000
interceptor 700 around 3000
mid 80s cr250 and cr500 (3000) - i had one of each and should have kept them!
mr50 around 500
sears minibike 1000
guzzi 8000
