Where do you canadians get your parts?
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
I have a 2007 250R with a balding back tire, and I've been looking into getting it replaced. The problem is that I live in a pretty crappy city and the few local dealers have ridiculous prices on any parts and service because there's a lack of competition. For a simple 130/90-16 back tire I've even been quoted $240 (not including tax) for the tire itself, plus an hour of labor ($90/hr), so $370 out the door to get a single tire replaced on a bike I paid $2000 used for - from the same dealer no less. I can't seem to find a place that seems "sane" in their price, or even people that are sane in general (one of the front desk people at the local kawasaki dealer was arguing with me that the "Ninja 250R" was a dirtbike and not a street bike, regardless that they had about 5 2009 250Rs on the floor). Does anyone know a well regarded place to order online within Canada (or states that will ship to canada?) A well known business in the Vancouver area that I could have an excuse to make a day's road trip to would work as well. |

Hi D!
I order all of my tires from Pete's Superbike: http://www.petes-superbike.com/ His prices are wonderful and his shipping is ludicrously fast. The only problem is that he is based in Montreal (I'm in Toronto), so I'm not sure how that will affect your shipping cost or time. He's a stand-up guy, though. There's also Bayside Performance: http://www.baysideperformance.ca/. Although I've never used them, I think they're based out West somewhere. With that said, some shops may turn you away if you do not buy the tires from them. While greed may have something to do with it, it is also a liability issue for some. Just keep that in mind when ordering tires online. |

Thanks for the links guys.
Pete's Superbike has really good prices in comparison. From there I can order both rear and front of Pirelli Sport Demons for the same price as I was quoted for a single rear bridgestone tire from the local dealer, even with the $40 shipping it only comes out to ~$260. Prices in Vancouver are likely very similar, this is quite a big difference |

Yep... some of the shops have crazy prices, something like 600 bucks at Kahuna to have them install a set of BT016s....
Needless to say I don't buy much from them anymore |
