Noob ... Tire sizes
Seems everyone mentions that the tire sizes are 16". The 2001 I am picking up has 17's. What is up with that? Bike is stock with only 2400 k's on it actual from original owner with no modifications. thanks

Yup....sounds like the owner doesnt know his bike.
2008 and later were the only ones with a stock OEM 17" wheel. Check the side of the tires, and see what tires are on it....it will tell you what size are on it. Either the bike was modified with 17" wheels, or the owner just doesnt know that pregen vs newgen had different wheel sizes. |

Well thanks for the answer! This is a Canadian bike. Has low risers in aluminium and adjustable levers. This bike was bought new from a Kawasaki dealer in 2001. Nothing was done to the bike to make it different or upgraded. From box to road in 2001. The rear tire is actually bigger than the Ninja 500 for the same year. 17 inch wheels is definitely a bonus as there are so many more options when it comes to tire time. I know the bike!!!!! and others as I have been riding for the last 40 years. Cheers. Just would like some other rider with a 2001 unit to drop in and confirm there were both 16 and 17's available that year worldwide.

Will do, but off to work! next day. Also the wheels are 3 webbed aluminium. Chrome pipes also have tips. Maybe a factory mutant! cheers

Is it an EX250 or a ZZR250? The ZZR's had 17" wheel, IIRC.
(OP's from Canada)

Wow thanks Alex, maybe Canuck Ninjas were actually ZZR's. License registration says EX250R. So mystery is solved.

All ZZR250s come with OEM 17" wheels. It's the cycle the US should have received ten years ago!

Metallic Red with silver flashes not tribal, but Ninja where the ZZR is on the side. Now where to get a pair of ZZR decals? Anyone?
