No need for embarrassment. One of our main & most loved members has surprisingly low mileage on his bike. Just think about all the happy years you have ahead of you with your Ninjette.

:P Nope, she's not for sale...
She's running grand, when I'm not busy stripping her bolts, blowing her fork seals out and other some such shenanigans. I'm a self-taught wrencher, so I learn by screwing things up, and luckily get them all straightened out before taking her out again. So if it wasn't for this idiot holding the wrenches she'd wouldn't have had the hiccups she's had, but still purring like a kitten... I haven't ridden much since I last posted, so I'm still at +-40K, I haven't checked. I blame it on the cold in the garage and trying to do too many projects all at once.... If you're interested on what's going to happen next: http://www.newninja.com/forums/f98/s...uild-5682.html

I have. 1988 250 ninja in perfect condition with a whopping 139000 miles. It's on it's third motor. I am rebuilding the original matching number engine when I get the money.
The mileage was documented on 250 ninja.org. And was owned by Bill Hoddinott. He put the miles on the bike. He donated the bike to Dark Horse Racing to help me out. He has since bought a 2011 and is riding daily. When I get the bike finished I might donate it to the Barber motorcycle museam. They don't have a 250 ninja in the museam. |

I log engine mileage and frame mileage seperately... because they aren't the same.

Bill took such good care of the engine. It hardly needs anything. I think he said it had a knock . But I could not find anything wrong with it. It looks like new. I think that first engine went 60k

Just recently bought a 99' with 5,900 on it. It's not on the road yet so I haven't put too many miles on it myself. Right now it has just under 6100 on it.
EDIT:: Oh yeah, and I only paid $1k for the bike. |

This is the final mileage on my 250. Selling/sold it. Bought it new in '08, roughly 28 months of riding (short season up here)

I've had to replace a few chains, lots of front brake pads, and a few front brake rotors. I tend to not use the back brake much. Tires, oh yes, a whole lot tires! The other stuff I've had to replace are all because I suck at doing mods... Any update on this? Who's got the highest mileage new-gen 250 ninjette?

I'm not there yet but with 20k miles a year average so far it won't be long.
Currently at 29,200 miles plus the 1,800 on the original Dash. |
