Slip-on question
Ok so I recently got a 09 ninja 250 and I'm enjoying every minute on it. I guess my only complaints are the bright chrome exhaust (on my all black bike), and the bike is a tad bit too quiet for my taste. The best solution, in my eyes, is a Yosh slip-on. Problem being that I've talked to a few people about this, including a local dealership mechanic, and some say I might have problems with the bike running lean? Is this true? I guess I'm just asking if it's okay to throw a slip-on on my bike without changing any other ratios or parts.
Thanks |

if yoshi recommends a rejet, yes it will cause it to run lean. I'd recommend just shimming the needles instead of buying a jet kit.
welcome to the forum. search and you'll find many threads on this subject. |

Welcome Matt! If you read the jetting threads, you may find that your bike is already lean... it's really easy to throw a couple of washers in there and smooth things out.
Also, if you haven't already pulled the snorkel, you might give that a try, as it does give the bike a throatier growl.... but again, it might make it a little lean and require a rejet....
