Coolant Reservoir Level
After taking all the body work off and seeing my Ninja naked for the first time (sent shivers through this old body) I remembered a thread complaining about having trouble seeing the level in the Coolant Reservior.
As I was cleaning I got to thinking that when I first checked my level it wasn't so much that I couldn't see the level it was where was it supposed to be. Came up with this idea. Try it if you like it. When you have the side panel off next time take a BIG Sharpie pen (your color choice I used black) and high-light the raised letters and level line on the side and end of the tank. You might want to mask the line and letters off first so you don't slip onto the tank (Ask me how I know this). Next time all you have to do is take the seat off and your in business. Pre-Mod Post-Mod Checking the level

Nice!
and just a little trick i've learned, if you get sharpie on a non-porous substance, you can write over it with a dry-erase and it will come right off! alcohol also works well... |

That`s a great idea. On the 08, the tank is not that visible although the cap is very acessible. I take a 12" long clear plastic tube and stick it into the tank. I then put my finger over the tube and pull it out. Ican then see the level in the tube.
