Another unexpected road hazard - birds
A couple of weeks ago I was crossing on an Interstate overpass at the speed limit of 40mph (that's my story and it's unshakeable). Got a glimpse of two semis on the slab running fast and side by side under me, and suddenly PIGEONS! All I saw was a brief flash of one of the feathered rats banking a turn, helmet-high in front on me, missing my head by less than a foot. Barely had time to grit my teeth and flinch, no time for more evasive action. I don't know if it would have wrecked me or not, but the impact from one of those diving demons hitting my face at a combined speed of maybe 80mph isn't comforting. Just one more place to be especially alert while riding that had not occurred to me.

Buzzards eating roadkill with limited directions to escape are especially dangerous.

I feel like my math is wrong but assuming the bird weighs 1kg if you it flush at 80mph. It has the same energy as a 208mph fastball.

good, i got that corny joke out of my system... ive almost hit a buzzard or two. scary imho, and both times where in heavy turns back on the twistys. if you ever wanna get your anger out find parking lots with pidgins or seagulls in em. then chase the fudge outta em with your ninja, makes you feel alot better. i caught a seagull with my lancer once, the wife was really really mad
