Pregen Two brothers repack and install....
These... these are loud mufflers...
I repacked them and installed them. They sound good, throaty and deep, but they do draw attention. I also had to adjust the idle.... maybe these will work with my rejetted carb set? |

Two Brothers do seem to run on the loud side, on my son's cbr250 he added the silencer but it is still pretty loud though not as loud as my 250 with the single yoshi

I ordered the power tips for them and they are still pretty loud. I think I may check the packing and the connections after a few rides to make sure everything is ok... not going to be as popular with the neighbors as the scrambler style 250 I ride.

As you can tell since you repacked them they are pretty much straight through type exhaust.

If those Power Tips you got are aluminium, they may melt over time and cause you problems.
You'll want to get steel muffler insert with closed centre. This will force exhaust to flow through packing material and it will dampen noise quite a bit. Also improves your mid-range power on pre-gen quite nicely as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075HCVJTM https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017YJ7TMQ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WYNV38S https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FF1TCW6 There's quite a few designs out there. Measure your muffler's outlet and find one that fits. |

Thanks Danno, I will look into that. The ones I got are the ones designed for the muffler set, but, yeah they are aluminum, but the whole muffler body and end are as well, so I would hope they hold up.
They do change the sound, and I am starting to like these, but they do write a check that the 250cc’s just can’t really cash. Maybe some more tuning is in order, and I will try some inserts. What could it hurt? |
