Do not use tire shine foam!
I detailed my month old 250r, girl friend shined my tires... I layed it down. Wear your jacket you do not want some nurse scrubing out road with iodine trust me it is horrible. Bike is not too bad, will post pics tommorow. It was quick like sliding on ice. Do not shine your tires!

Please tell me you're joking. Why would you ever think that it's a good idea to shine a motorcycle tire?

I guess its not wise to clean your rotors with wd-40 either
I do use tire shine on my seats tho but Im gonna try baby oil. The tire shine only ever becomes "iffy" on my CBR's seat. |

Actually that was pretty cool of your GF. It was a nice gesture. She didn't know any better.

It's okay on the sidewall... I wouldn't spray it on the tire just on a rag and wipe the sidewall. Definitely not on the tread... that wouldn't work out well. Heck, you wouldn't put tire shine on the tread of a car tire either... so I'm a little confused why anyone would

Probably not a logic thing. Aesthetically, i'm sure it looked fantastic as a showroom bike.

I will say that if anyone ever has this scenario play out for them, to use Bleach White and a tire brush to get that stuff off. The summer after high school, I found my self detailing cars for a Toyota dealership. They practically wanted reflections in their tires on new vehicle deliveries. I hated it, so I rarely use the stuff on my cars. Just Bleach White because I prefer the look of clean, new tires.

Do not blame your gf. She was trying to help and you should have noticed how black and shiny the tires were before you headed out. BTW I'm glad you are ok.
