I don't think there is anything wrong with the 650 per-say, some people out there probably like it and think it is a good machine and that it looks cool.

I am not one of them. I like a little more sporty look but I guess I can't say much about the mechanics of the bike, it could be a great machine, I just think it is kinda ugly and not my cup of tea. However if it was the only bike I could own I'd ride the balls off it

*This is all based on my experience riding two 2009 Ninja 650's.

It's not a bad bike, but it's just not what I was looking for. First of all, I am not a fan of the ergonomics. This pic comparison sums up why I went for the SV. The upright seating is just not that comfortable to me.

Secondly, I didn't like how the the Ninja 650 felt. For me, I didn't get a lot of front end feedback.

And lastly, it just doesn't sound very good. It sounds like a big Ninja 250. Why not get a v-twin that sounds very beastly in comparison.

Sadly, if you're looking for a new motorcycle, Suzuki ruined a good thing with the SFV650. The new Ninja 650 just looks really funky. I really like the FZ-07 but have never ridden one. I really wish Yamaha made one with at least half fairings. I like my sport bikes with wind protection.

So go crash those ninjettes and get R6's! That's what Kawi wants you to do.

You mean 300. It's cheaper and is basically the same as 636

I almost didn't upvote that post because of the source of the pic
...almost

The 300 is a sweet bike, but the 636 is the perceived "step up" from it that kawi is going for, not the 650

Don't follow that youtube channel. It was just the first image that popped up in the google search.

Also, you can clearly see why Kawasaki doesn't make a 650 that looks as nice as the 300/636. It would hurt the sales of their 636.

That's not really the comparison you should make. The SV650S has clip-ons, the SV650 (no S) does not, and has a much more upright riding position.

Put clip-ons on the Ninja 650 (or just a set of "sport" bars) and you'll have something much more comparable to the SV650S.

Put clip-ons on the Ninja 650 (or just a set of "sport" bars) and you'll have something much more comparable to the SV650S.
But that SV doesn't have a windscreen. Therefore in my situation it was automatically ruled out. And putting clipon's on a Ninja 650 doesn't magically change it. A friend has an 09 Ninja 650 and did the 636 front end conversion. The bike just wasn't designed to have clipons. With the 636 front end, it makes the bike worse to ride as he didn't get rearsets to fix the leg position and the tank shape will always be a problem with little to no fixes.

And after all these 'fixes' it costs less to get a SV650S.

He is the biggest joke ever. It makes me angry after 30 seconds into his videos.

FZ6R?
High price and weird ass looks. Much rather have a FZ-09 for the price.

FZ6R seems like a nice bike, I've bever ridden one, but I think I'd prefer the twin in the FZ-07. It makes more torque and a little more HP. Plus the parallel-twin that runs a cross-plane 270-degree crank sounds good.
