@lowcel - You have a TV in your trailer, how did you mount it to the wall? I am getting ready to hang mine and I figger you got some experience. I mean, I could always just put it on a shelf but...

I just used a mount from Monoprice. Nice and simple.

Mine too, hdmi is hdmi.... I wanted to use a computer monitor as well. Since I normally have a lappy with me, I can play movies/track vids and such as needed.

I think you know where I am going with this. I should have my rig a little better set up when I see ya at Mid-o soon.

A lot

Finally gave her a bath that included a lot of engine degreaser and a thorough scrub to get rid of the bugs, grime, grit, oil, grease, mud, gas, unmentionables. Tired of the CDC complaints about being a biohazard.

Swapped out the phone mount for a new beefier one.

Swapped my 45T to a 42T in prep of the long rides this summer.

Replaced chain after borking the install of the master link on the old chain (yeah, failed to figure out how to remove rear tire without breaking the chain - dur pull the axle idiot.)

Removed adjustable bracket from left foot peg in hopes of making my knee happy again.

Installed the front saddlebags.

She all pretty now!

Today I welded Pitbull spool adapters to my swingarm. Then i blasted the whole deal, along with my unitrack, and coated it all with spray on bed liner. Score.

Also revisted my headlight project to get it going. I really want to get this darn bike running. It's finally getting nice out and I'm sick of sitting around tinkering with small parts without seeing it all complete.

Only major thing left is to powder coat my wheels. I haz powder, but many places don't want to use outside powder, even if it's clean and stored properly. Hmmmm.

Carburetors... And now she runs! I'd never seen a set this dirty, but pine-sol did the trick. There must have been water in them for a while. At least the airbox boots are easier to get back onto the carburetors than they are with a pre-gen.

Ride on,

J~

I practiced balancing on the bike at 0mph today. The best I was able to do was maybe 5-8 seconds. Had to be the perfect intersection with the front tire facing the crown of the road....and preferably a slight incline.

Here I am when I was first practicing this on my bicycle in the early 2000s when I commuted to work by bike. I thought it'll be a cool "trick" to do on a motorbike. If I am able to pull this off for more than 1 minute, I'll mount a rear view cam to get driver's reactions.

On my bicycle, I was able to hold it for more than 5 minutes. I also learned to do it seated, and with only one hand.

I was kinda glad that they were the problem. It was an easy fix. Better that than time spent chasing an electrical gremlin!

I added the rear-set, foot-pegs, and shifter yesterday. Got to ride it for the first time, too. Thanks to a piece of sprinkler pipe substituted for the radiator. Picking up the rear fender (with signals) and an Evap canister today. That leaves the radiator, front turn signals, and left side fairing, tires, brake pads, and possibly fork seals. Then some suspension upgrades will be in order. And a custom Skillz Days graphics package. Thinking that reflective material will be the way to go with that.

Ride on,

J~

Helped Kashif put his bike back together after a valve adjustment. Bike started up fine and then we shut her off. Started it back up and it wouldn't rev past 2k without bogging. I'm guessing debris got sucked up. we're waiting for the carb rebuild kit to come in and I'll go over the overhaul with him. He attempted it before I came so I figure I trust his work and give it a try to see. He also put together the top end before I came too but I'm pretty confident everything is timed right.

I installed a new Motion Pro speedo cable. I always forgot how much of a PITA it is to screw the top end into the gauge cluster. No more GPS speedo! Now I just need a front stand and I can change the fork seals and get back on the twisties!

Put 800+ miles on it over the last 3 days, beautiful weather for riding and seen so many motorcycles this early in the year is amazing.

Pulled the sending unit and cleaned it up only to have it not work anymore.

Why no worky?

Local 250 rider got his carb rebuild kit in so I came over and showed him the rebuild somewhat lol. The previous owner boogered some of the screws and the jets but we managed to have everything all cleaned out. Carb looks good. I'm suspecting rain had gotten into the gas tank since when I pulled the carbs off there were signs of water in the bowls. Should have the bike running tommorrow after work when I bring over a fuel jug to dump the fuel in the tank. May have to look around for a pipe since his handle bars are severely bent. Throttle grip was sticking to the bar end which stopped it from snapping back. Makes for a good cruise control though.

local's bike is finally running. Took forever to drain the gas out. I didn't feel like taking the petcock off and making a mess. The bike is missing a lot of hardware due to the abuse/neglect from previous owner. Front fairing stay is bent pretty bad to where the fairings do not line up properly. Suggested he fix his handle bars, tighten down his steering stem nut, and inflate his tires. Other than that, he's back on two again.

So far I've removed all the fairings and installed EMGO intake pods but still need to get new jets to go with it. Finished mounting my Trail Tech Vapor Gauge (still needs some cable management). Installed headlight brackets to accommodate my cafe style Lucas headlight bucket. Installed a 7" headlight. Now I'm currently trying to adjust my valves while draining my oil...Busy Sunday

Mounted my HF - Mojo - NoMar contraption purchase from a while back and changed my rear tire from the nearly corded 150 BT16 to the new 140 S20 Evo. Set the bead and going to check it this afternoon when I get home to make sure no pressure loss, then balance.

After I need to decide on pulling the front 16 and putting the 20 on or not. I have the tire but there is probably 35-45% more life in the front left.

Saturday: pulled the rear wheel and swapped back to a 45t.

Glad I learned the trick to doing that without breaking the chain. This'll make life much easier.

Dag Namit! Found 3 problems today. Oil leak, Left rear turn signal seems to have loose wire and rear brake pedal doesn't switch brake light on. Was fine last week, was just getting into riding but now it's wrench time.

Ran it 60 miles to work to find the office closed.
Turned around and ran it 60 miles home.

The schools are all open, why close the office?
