I'm cheap, don't want to buy new tires right now so just need something to get me one last ride this year and minor riding until Marchish. If I can squeeze the last 3-4k out of the almost dead, I'll be happy.
Yeah, both the really dead and the almost dead are Pilot Streets. The reason the rear is only 12k is I took it into the shop before my second big ride in May this year and they failed to tell me that the Pilot Streets were backordered until the day I went to pick it up (after having it for two weeks). I bought a rear DRII off their shelf to go with me PS front for about 3k miles and then swapped both out just before my summer vacation.* *wrote a summary mostly to record what happened so I can remember later on how many miles the DRII in my garage has.

So yesterday was a beautiful day...I went for about an hour ride, and decided to change oil & filter and clean the air filter. I embarked on this little maintenance project at about 9:30 am. At 5 pm I was done. You see kiddies, I have only had this bike for about 2 months. When I went to remove the air filter, I realized it was gone. Not removed, gone. Apparently the PO didn't bother with it in years. Sooooo...I spent the day disassembling the bike so I could remove the airbox so that I could completely clean it out of old filter debris. Then the rest of the day was spent traveling around to various parts stores, cycle gear and dealerships in the Charleston area. Finally found one and got bike back together as a stated earlier at around 5.
And then today I talked my wife into her first ride ever. She hated it. She felt unsafe. She was fine with me and my riding, she was just worried about the other cars. At least my kids enjoy the rides. In the immortal words of Meatloaf, "Two out of three ain't bad."

Not today, but the last bits to go on were rearsets. Stainless brake line also arrived, so that'll be installed relatively soon.

Swapped out the stock levers for adjustable ones. Now I just need to find the time to install the under-fairing frame sliders.

Are those the woodcraft ones? I have them on my list as an option; I'd love to get some firsthand feedback. There may not be much to say without crashing them (please dont!), but any comment is better than none in this case.

It's just a single bar, but it hopefully won't bend since the sliders are under the fairings and won't be taking a huge side impact like external sliders. I only got these because I plan to take this one to the track a lot and didn't want to risk an external slider causing more damage to the fairings. I have a set of T-Rex no cuts on my other 300, and those are super beefy. |

More for my Ninjette than to it:
Designed an addition to the cartridge emulators that should allow for some rebound damping adjustability. |

Had been sitting under a cover with no fuel for the past 3 months... Had to get her started... So I push it next door to the gas station, fill her up... andddd she doesn't start... Then after fiddling around for 25 minutes, warming her up for 20 more, I figured hmmm, let's take her up the highway!
Once warmed up she pulled like nothing ever happened... Not that our ninjettes a have much "pull" haha! |

Took the snow day to finally remove the Yoshimura frame slider brackets and install the Woodcraft under bodywork sliders. I learned from my primary bike, and I removed the gas tank this time instead of trying to finagle the top mount bolts. Went a lot smoother.
And installed a Two Brothers Racing full exhaust. Now, I just have to remove the taillight, and it'll be ready for bodywork mounting. |

The Woodcraft ones were super easy to install. They are a single bolt only. They do not require pulling the tank or anything else, like the other sliders that use brackets to the top two engine mount bolts. They seem sturdy, and hopefully the smooth surface of the fairing and these behind the fairings will prevent weird torquing on the mount/frame. If you do get them, know to remove the rubber grommet from the engine mount. The instructions don't explicitly say that. Also, I don't know how many people own a hex head for a socket wrench that is small enough to fit in the slider tube to crank down on the bolt. I definitely don't. However, once you get the bolt and nut tight enough, you can just use a screwdriver/allen key to rotate the right side slider tube to tighten. Not ideal, but it'll work. But overall, I feel like they seem worthwhile, and I hope they won't destroy the frame if I get into trouble. |

Today I got a Yoshimura TRC slip-on in stainless steel, and swapped it out for ny stock can that the previous owner server let dented and scratched up, to the point it started to rust over winter :/
Now she really roars, didn't even expect this tone out of the 250 at all! |

Cut the tachometer section off of the instrument panel so I can mount the tach by itself. Next is to make a nice little carbon fiber cover to cover the hole, and last, to orient it so that redline is where the needle points straight up.
