Harumi
It's been a while since my introductory post... :3
Since then, I've given Harumi a couple of upgrades! Out with the old, and in with the Older. lol I got fed up with the tiny, unlit km/h speedometer, so I found a used OEM cluster and mounted it! I also got her a front fender. Next: Windscreen and cargo rack! |

I like the unadorned OEM instrument panel on a naked bike look.

How I've always felt. Fairings are kinda... 'meh', from an aesthetic standpoint.
* * * Windscreen and cargo rack have been put on hold in favour of body parts! New booty section had a ding in it. Praise be to Bondo! She gon' get a makeover! :3 Still waiting on the side panels and a couple of other bits. |

I'll be honest.
Whenever I read the name "Chloe" in my head I said "CHA-low". I did this for about as long as I read "Khaki" as "HACK-EE". I wish I could say it wasn't a very long time. But I'd be lying. |

Progress Update:
Prime(d) Booty: Pink Booty: I'm wanting to add custom lettering and decals to her, and since I'm a cheapskate who refuses to custom order...: Transfer test 1 (wax paper to wood): Transfer test 2 (parchment paper to cardboard): Wax seems to work better, but all I have right now is pretty much unusable (store run!). I figure transfer it and use that as a guideline to paint it in by hand (I wonder if a sharpie would work...) Side panels should be here tomorrow! |

Looks purdy smooth... Nice job!
With the transfer method are you adding any heat? They use same method for diy pcb making and parchment seems to be acceptable and also use photo printer paper.

Pink and black can look very mean when done right. You might even consider a little more black, like a black seat and some black stripes, for example. You're good at sketching, so sketch up a few to look at.

Progress shots from today!
The side panels won't actually be going on until I get a proper coolant reservoir to replace the can/bottle/thing. And the tank is still on the bike because not only am I a lazy ass, but she's my only transportation and I can't afford to put her our of commission for too long. Damn tank's gonna take a while to sand down, so she's gonna be ugly for a while. Once I get the decals, the parts are coming back off and getting touched up before clear-coating. |

Looks good so far. The tank is pretty easy to get off, by the way. Two bolts and three rubber hoses, as I remember.

I don't drain it. The petcock will keep gasoline from coming out. I just don't like it to be full because it's heavy when it is. Whatever is easiest for you though.

I think I'm done for a while. Next will be the exhaust and emissions system... Because important bits are likely missing, and she smells terrible as a result. |D |

Very nice, Chloe. I like it with the black seat. It connects by the stripes to the engine, etc.. What happened to the stock license plate bracket? Not that what you have isn't nice, just wondering.

Some updates:
Tank pad! Lockbox! No more having important paperwork yanked out of my pocket by the wind. BONUS: Meowtercycle helmet (WIP). :3c |

I love the all three! The lockbox is a really good idea. The helmet looks to be right out of an episode from the original Batman TV series.
I don't want to talk about the tank pad, because at my age anything I say would probably be held against me. |

After my little assident, she's been un-ride-able, but the rebuild has finally begun!
New parts acquired: - forks - triple Tree (w/ bonus risers for a 1 1/8 inch bar!) - center stand - shift lever To get: - headlight assembly - handlebars (I'm open to recommendations!) - TIRES - clutch and break levers - gauge cluster? (compact digital at some point) - New paint job! (Plastidip maybe?) |

It's good to hear of your progress, Chloe. I don't recommend Plastidip. My 250 had it when I bought it, and it quickly started peeling off in places like where my legs contacted the tank. On top of that, gasoline quickly dissolves it, so any spill on the tank will mess it up badly.
I would use a decent spray paint, and if you want a durable clear coat over that, use Spraymax 2K . |

The search for a headlight and handlebars has begun...
The oh-so-slightly smashed assembly that it currently has is this one, but I'm hoping to find something more affordable if at all possible. (7" or 8") Some I've been looking at: 1 - No mention of size, but it's fairly cheap and already has turn signals 2 - Under $20, and 7", but quality may be iffy 3 - Another 7" that looks decent 4 - Another 7" for under $50 5 - And here's a combo-breaking rectangular one In addition, I'm also looking for some recommendations for 1 1/8" handlebars if anyone has any. |

2 and 3 look so similar they may come from the same factory. 7" round gives you a lot of choices, even a high quality LED headlight when you get more money available in the future.
