Bike Thieves Describe How They Target A Bike
https://youtu.be/m7vyKZDvUt8?t=22m46s
I started it at the time off set where they describe how they pick a bike. You only need to watch for a couple of minutes. It can help you make your bike less attractive to these people. My take away is that if you have to park in a theft-ridden city like London, then: - park near other bikes - don't have the most expensive/attractive bike there - cover it - chain it to a static object - keep it in public view Of course, have theft insurance too.

Most of them will lick a thief, that's why pitbull farms have guard dogs (dobermans, and Rottweilers) least that's what I've always seen

Pitbulls aka Staffordshire Terrier aka "Nurse dogs" are great with kids!
It's only recently with horrible training that they're dangerous! I'm going to style my bike after this one! |

DannoXYZ: I was just looking at your motorcycles list in your side profile thing. You have a lot of 250 Ninjas! Are they all running?
Also: no one is gonna steal your pregens. I'M KIDDING! Ok, maybe I'm a bit serious. They're... an acquired taste... which I have acquired.

AHhahhaha! I'm getting better at my bike-hoarding! Here's my garage from couple years ago. Not 8 heads in duffel bag, but 8 bikes in one auto’s bay!
This is status of my 250s, 3 out of 4 running. Funny thing is only my race-bike I bought running. All others were basket cases in boxes. 2008 Ninja 250R #1 - street bike, all stock except for Ali el-cheapo muffler, even original BT-45 tyres! 2003 EX250F #1 - street bike, all stock, mis-matched yellow and purple bodywork 2008 Ninja 250R #2 - race bike, all mods possible under 250 Prod rules 2003 EX250F #2 - race bike in boxes, going to build up for 250 Superbike class. - currently chopping and shortening frame. - engine @ shop for big-bore build. - Microsquirt EFI system and associated parts ordered and trickling in. While I'm not about to give out specifics in regards to the security methods I use on my bike, I will say that knowing how your methods are defeated is a great way to pick which ones will work for you. If one method requires one tool to defeat said security efficiently, and another method requires a different tool, that means they pair well because it will take longer and require much more planning to steal said bike.

I'd be interested to hear how the pregen and newgen 250 race bikes compare on the track when you have it fully modded.

I highly recommend a 1992 Suzuki Katana with rash on both sides, body panels from 4 different colored bikes and a rip in the seat.
You can leave your keys in it if you want.

According to this London is actually the worst place in the UK for motorcycle theft and Scotland is far better. However Edinburgh has the "highest risk in Scotland". So if you're going to get your bike nicked in Scotland, it's probably going to happen in Edinburgh. This other page actually says Edinburgh is the #7 hotspot for motorcycle theft in the whole of the UK. So if you're gonna change your vacation plans to account for bike theft... maybe you should change again... or just book yourself into a castle, with working moats, armed guards, archer posts and hot tar.

There's quite a few bootleg London tour DVDs out there. You run the risk of violating copyright law and facing huge fines. As tasty as fish & chips are, they are fatty and can lead to heart disease and the fish can contain high levels of mercury leading to mercury poisoning. Instead of those things may I suggest hiding in a corner and whimpering... quietly; so as to not attract the attention of potential assailants that may be hiding near by your place of residence.

There is an old story about 2 hikers going for a hike when a bear starts to chase them. The first hiker stops and puts on a pair of running shoes. The second hiker says "you fool you can't out run a bear" The first hikers says "I don't need to out run the bear, I just need to out run you"
Kind of the same way with bike thieves. I don't have to be 100% able to stop them, I just have to make my bike harder than someone else's. |

The video was titled: Inside Britain's Moped Crime Gangs Someone has re-uploaded the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH1NUzUQX5w If you just want to watch the thieves talk about how they select a bike, start watching from 22m 46s No idea how long it will be up for.
