New to me !
New here and so far this is one of the best and enthusiastic motorcycle forums I belong to. I picked up a non running 2010 last week for peanuts. I didnt have the heart to tell him it fired right up with a new battery when I got home. I'm already farkling like crazy with a new body and many shiny things coming from China. Going thru the carbs and have a chain/sprocket kit in hand. I really look forward to tuning this thing and having a blast the rest of the summer.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Today I got clipons installed along with frame sliders and a jet kit and a slipon. I'm really not a fan of pod filters but I'm getting there after gittin these carbs in and out a couple of times ! Body will hopefully be here next week.

Nice find.
The dude you bought it off was probably happy to get rid of it. He may not have had the time and/or skill to diagnose the issue(s) and restore it. Hopefully you'll bring the ninjette back to its former glory! That bike in the background looks like a monster. I guess you want the ninjette because it's cheaper, lighter and more playful.

It's also not ridiculously slow like a 125 4-stroke. Though, occasionally I meet people riding those things that some how manage to get and maintain a fair bit of speed on those things. IDK how they're doing it. I guess they're just staying tucked down and not getting off the throttle much.

[QUOTE=akima;1225288]That's something that I love about my ninjette. I can pin the throttle, be quickly shifting through the gears and making the bike scream yet be barely over the speed limit. It's a lot of fun.
Update...l am able to attribute some of the lack of performance due to a worn clutch. I was able to adjust it some but it left me with no free play at the lever and the performance did improve. I ordered new plates and a cable on eBay last night. |
