Jim Hoogerhyde rode the Lightning to 209 at Mohave Mile in 2016 (with APS bodywork). I'm fastest at 201/206 (1.0/1.5 mile) with stock bodywork. I could probably go 206 in the mile with different gearing but I never bothered.

[QUOTE=jkv45;1228696]The late Bill Warner is still The Man, at 311, if I'm not mistaken.
Bills record of 311 was set at just over a mile. The Loring track is 1.5 miles of acceleration. Bill was trying to go 300 in the mile. No one has done that yet.

Hey Eric - getting ready to head to the Arkansas Mile this week?
We plan to leave on Fri and ride all day, then to the track on Sat, and heading home Sunday morning. Weather doesn't look perfect at this point, but hopefully will be decent by then. |

Ya I’m going to be there Thursday morning for tech and race as I can. Looking a Friday being the big day. The weather is always an issue. But the beer is cold no matter how bad the weather .

Just got back from the 1300 mi roundtrip to the Arkansas Mile this weekend on my SV650n, where I caught-up with Eric (Racer-X).
When we got there Sat morning he had done a 118 and change, but the next run took out the head gasket. He swapped engines and made another run, but unfortunately with the same result. He's exceeding the mechanical limits of the Ninjette's engine design at this point when he hits "The Button". Here he is before heading out for another run - Here he is just finishing an engine swap - |

The airfield was used by B-52s during the Vietnam era. That's why the runway (racetrack) is over 2 mi long.
Here are a few more interesting things that showed-up at the Arkansas Mile (9/29/18) - Civic ran 128+ Geo Metro ran 118+ Didn't see any official numbers for the Stude, but I think it may have cracked 200 - No idea...Bugati something... One surprise was the amount of ZX-14s, which outnumbered Busas. This H2 ran close to 200 MPH while we were there - Last futzed with by jkv45; October 1st, 2018 at 11:34 AM. |

It’s a cool show.
The head gasket on the second engine was a result of the clutch slipping I guess. First engine has had about twenty runs . I should have just changed the oil. It has a Better clutch. It was great to meet you guys. Thanks for coming out

Great to meet you also. 118 from the little Ninja was a solid run, though I know you would have liked more.
Enjoyed the day at the track. Wish it was closer. The 12 hr ride home wasn't quite as enjoyable. |
